What is the difference between a marketplace and a market square?
I want to understand the distinction between a marketplace, which I believe refers to a virtual or physical space where goods and services are bought and sold, and a market square, which I imagine is a specific, often physical, location where markets are held.
Why is it called Market Square?
I'm curious about the origin of the name 'Market Square'. I want to know why this particular place was named so. Is it because there was a market held here in the past, or is there some other historical or cultural reason behind it?
